The Perfect Cloche Crochet Pattern
Cozy, chic and easy-to-make, this cloche will look good on just about anybody.

This pattern is rated 'Easy' simply because the bow attachment gives it a slight nudge above 'Beginner'. There are photo illustrations for attachment of the bow and easy-to-follow instructions throughout. I'm a big supporter of the 'simple and pretty' school of crochet, and I try to follow that as much as possible.

Pattern can be purchased by following this lovely link.

Comments, questions and the like are completely welcome.

pattern help
I have an image of a logo that I want to put on a shirt as a surprise for my boyfriend, but neither of the two programs I've found online do it right. I have waste fabric to put cross stitch on fabric, and the excess just pulls away. The piece I have is the right size for the tshirt, but the pattern either comes out too big for the fabric, or if it fits the fabric, the words are blurred and illegible. Does anyone know how I can make this happen?

Book of Ruth (Bible)
I have seen oodles of religious cross stitch at Walmart (especially) and I want to design my own pattern, or use other pattern parts to make my own. I want to make a cross stitch for my mother in law based on the Book of Ruth, which says "Entreat me not to leave thee..." etc. I have seen a couple but they are clearly wedding ones.

I would like to "kit bash" and "design yer own" showing two ladies in robes, embracing, with the saying from the Book of Ruth underneath. I love my mother in law, she is a second mother to me. My husband is currently committing adultery so he won't speak to me, but I think she is a prize and want to do as much for her as I can.

BTW, she is NOT happy with adultery and wants it to stop, but what can she do? He is in his mid 30's and lives with her in her hourse and plays D and D and computer games for hours. He is tubby from sittting at the computer.

This cross stitch is NOT a romantic thing for him. It is for her, who has tried to talked to him and turn him into a man. I tried and failed. Our first wedding anniversary is June 25 and we have not spoken since January. His girlfriend means more to him than anything. She even gave him a hand job at our wedding reception.

He is not worth it, but she is. I want to somehow create a cross stitch showing the daughter in law and mother in law embracing, and the words that start "Entreat me not to leave thee" on it. I am an artist and can draw, but I don't know how to translate this to cross stitch.

If any one of you have already seen a cross stitch pattern like this, please let me know.

Thank you,

stitch sampler patchwork baby blanket
I'm knitting a baby blanket for a friend's baby that has recently arrived. I'm doing squares of different knitting stitches (i.e. moss stitch, checks, garter stitch, seed stitch, etc.). However, I'm finding that my gauge changes from square to square. I basically have been casting on 24 stitches for each square, but the length of the squares changes (one garter stitch square with the same amount of stitches lengthwise as a checked square ended up being a quarter longer).

Does anyone have ideas on whether it will be all right when I sew them together, or should I just eyeball it and make each square roughly the same size and just stitch them together with mattress stitch?

A small introduction
Afternoon, folks.

I've been crocheting for a while now, ever since I was a child. To me, it's like origami, math, and an erector-set all rolled into one. No pun intended.

Before I search the archives, troll around, and make myself as invisible as possible. ;) I figured I would ask a small question of advice. I would like to give my girlfriend, with whom I will soon live with, something sweet for the new house she is purchasing. An idea came to mind and since the general theme is going to be "Irish" (being that we're both of Irish decent), I thought I could crochet a nice table runner for the hardwood table she has.

Looking around, and to be honest, not much time was put into it as I am on lunch break, I thought I could find a nice pattern of a runner with a Celtic border and a claddagh in the center.

No luck.

So I set out on the task of designing one.

Does anyone have any thoughts and advice?

Thanks in advance!

luxdilemma.com now open
My site is *tentatively* open. Eveything is in place and the pix are all up, so please go check it out, look around, sign the guestbook. I won't be able to take orders for another few weeks because I am working on a project that will take most of my time. After that though, the cart buttons go up and it's on! I will probably be making changes to it here and there over the next month. If you catch any errors please let me know.

Click this:

Hope you like it!

new auctions

I have new auctions up on ebay and there are more larger sizes! For those who have been asking for bigger sizes, be sure to check them out this week. Click the pic below. By the way, the reason the clothes tend to look small in my ads is because my mannequin is small, so keep that in mind.

Hi I'm a designer from Australia.
I've been asked to design an evening garment (dress/skirt&top) for a woman in her mid 40s.
I've never designed for this age group and I need some pointers as to the garment lines/styles generally acceptable for this type.
I have the feature points of the garment in mind, but I need an appropriate form to work them onto.
She's of medium height, slim build.
If anyone can point me towards websites/auctions/pictures/whatever, that would be great.

X-posted. Sorry.
